In short
- CostBoard runs entirely on your device. Your entries, quotes, clients and amounts never leave your phone.
- The app needs no account and offers none. There is no sign-in, and the released version sends us no data at all.
- We run no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no profiling cookies.
What data we process
Data that stays on your device
Everything you create in the app (cost entries, projects, budgets, categories, quotes, your clients details, your company profile) is stored locally on the device. The app opens no network connections and transmits none of it, to us or to anyone else.
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect: email address, name, phone number, location data, contacts, advertising identifiers or analytics. We do not combine data from other sources and we do not build profiles.
Legal bases
The released version of CostBoard sends us no personal data, so we carry out no processing of your app data and no legal basis under Article 6 GDPR arises on our side.
The only processing connected with CostBoard concerns the costboard.app website. Handling the technical data needed to serve a page and keep the server secure rests on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in providing and protecting the site).
Retention
- App data: stays on your device for as long as you keep it there. We hold no copy and cannot delete, restore or inspect it.
- Website: the technical data needed to serve costboard.app is handled by our hosting provider for the period set by its own retention rules.
Recipients and processors
We receive no data from the app, so there is nothing to pass on. We use no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking tools, and we neither sell nor share data with third parties for marketing purposes.
The costboard.app website is served by our hosting provider, on infrastructure in the European Union, under a data processing agreement.

Transfers outside the EEA
We transfer no data outside the EEA. The site is served from infrastructure in the European Union.
Your rights
You have the right to: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection.
Because the app sends us nothing, we hold no data about you and cannot identify you. You exercise control directly in the app, where the data lives:
- Access and portability: the data export function (JSON, CSV, XLSX) in Settings.
- Erasure: reset the app data in Settings, or uninstall the app.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority (Prezes Urzedu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw) or your local data protection authority.
Security and breaches
Your data never leaves the device, so it is protected by the device itself: the screen lock, storage encryption and the app sandbox provided by iOS and Android. Backups you export are ordinary files under your control, so keep them somewhere safe. If a personal data breach on our side ever posed a risk to individuals, we would report it to the supervisory authority without undue delay under Articles 33 and 34 GDPR.
Children
The app is intended for people aged 16 and over. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly process their data.
Cookies and tracking
The mobile app does not use cookies. The costboard.app website does not use tracking cookies or analytics tools. Fonts are served from our own server, with no connections to third-party content delivery networks.
Changes to this policy
We will announce material changes in the app or on costboard.app. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this document.
